Art has always been my calling, starting from the moment I transformed my bedroom door into a vibrant reflection of my childhood in Honduras. Though I never had the chance to attend art school, I believe that true creativity is innate and can't always be taught. My journey in art is a testament to the idea that some skills are born within us, waiting to be unleashed on canvas. 

 

It all began during a challenging time when I lost my job in the midst of the COVID pandemic. Determined to find a new path, I enrolled in two classes to learn the art of using oil and acrylic paints. This decision sparked a journey of creativity and self-discovery that I never anticipated. Did I know this would become a passion that would transform my life?  I had no idea that taking these two classes would start a journey that would allow me to take my art pieces from the small city of San Pedro Sula, Honduras, to the Big Apple (New York City). 

 

My sister works at a medical office in New Rochelle, NY, and she purchased the first art piece that started my journey as an artist. Many patients in her office often ask her who created the piece displayed in the waiting room. She always proudly replies, "This is my brother's piece." While many of them love the artwork, one day, a patient asked if she would be willing to sell it. He went to the bank, returned with the payment, and left with the art piece.
